There is no need to dispute the fact that fashion is an integral part of the human society. Our world is one in which fashion has been glorified to high heavens, and this partly explains the reason why the fashion industry is so successful that it generates billions of dollars in profit after tax every year, and this is in addition to providing jobs for millions of people all over the globe. Talking of the billions of dollars, it is interesting to know that these huge sums did not rain from the sky, rather it was the little contributions that we all made in forms of purchasing fashion products, especially the designer labels. That said, it would not be too bad to give some tips that are useful when one decides to buy a designer product.

Funnily enough, the first thing that you have to do is to make sure that the designer product that you intend to buy is really a designer label. The reason why you need to take this important step is quite simple. The fact is that in this modern day of ours, a lot of people want to be successful as soon as possible, although there is nothing bad in dreaming big, it is a sin and crime to be fraudulent. So many fake designers have decided to imitate the popular and trusted brands.

Therefore, you will find that in many markets around the globe, you will find cheap fakes and imitations of the designer labels. One way to know is that they come at prices that are too cheap to be true and upon closer observation, the difference is clear, remember nothing good comes easy. If the prices are too low to be true, then you may be on your way to buying a fake designer. And you will agree that that can be very painful, especially when you pay the full amount of an original.

SHOPPING, RETURN, AND EXCHANGE POLICIES

Who doesn’t love shopping?  There’s nothing like spending a day shopping and coming home with all sorts of things that you love. It could be shopping for clothes, for electronics, or for gifts, but a day spent shopping is satisfying no matter what.

When you are shopping, it’s important to take note of the return and exchange policies before you make your purchase. Sometimes you get your clothes or electronic device home and find out that there is a missing part.  You might even get home and find out that the gift you bought for your niece is completely the wrong size, or features a band that they “outgrew.”

So, while you’re in the store, you should find out what their return and exchange policies are. Some stores do not take returns but will do an exchange. If it is clothes, they will exchange the item only if you didn’t wear the original before you brought it back. This is especially applicable for shoes, and undergarments and bathing suits cannot be returned at all, so make sure that you have the right size!

If you bought something without checking these policies, then got home only to realize that you need to take the item back, don’t worry.  Just call the store and speak to a sales clerk to find out.  Receipts often have the store phone number, and sometimes even describe the return and exchange policy. If the receipt does not state their policy or provide their number, you can look up contact information online at sites like Canada 411. Then you can simply call the store and find out. Always keep your receipt, though! There are very few stores that will let you return or exchange an item without it, and if they do, it can be very time consuming.

Consignment Clothing–Best for Your Budget

When you are on the hunt for beautiful designer clothing at an affordable price, make sure you check consignment shops. Consignment shops are usually very meticulous about the clothes they offer on their racks. They take in pieces that are still in great shape and resell them to discerning clients. You can get terrific deals on top designers, but there are some tricks you need to know.
Introduce Yourself
Stop in the consignment shop and look around. If you like the styles they are bringing in, find something to purchase and then start up a conversation with the cashier.
-Find out what day the new items are put on the floor.
-Ask if the store has an email list that you can join.
-Find out if the shop takes requests. If so, fill out the request form with your name, number, email addy and list of designers that you are looking for. The store will call you when the items come in.
-If you have items you could sell, inquire about the store’s sales policy. Store’s often give you 30-40% of the sales price when you request cash, but some stores will offer a higher percentage if you take your earnings as an in-store credit. This is a great way to obtain expensive clothes even when you’re living on a budget.
Beyond clothing, most consignment shops sell shoes, jewelry and other accessories as well. You can re-create your entire wardrobe for a tenth of what the items would cost you new. Some things to remember when looking at clothes from consignment shops:
-Don’t rely on the clothing tag for sizing, check for alterations and try the item on if possible.
-Check the seams to be sure they are still intact.
-Try all zippers, snaps and buttons to make sure nothing is loose, sticking or otherwise damaged.
-Ask for a copy of the store’ return policy before you buy!

Shopping habits have been impeded by the decline in the economy. How can a girl keep up with rockin’ styles on a bare-bones budget? Thrift stores are the answer to your conundrum! Thrift stores offer a way to get your hands on the latest styles without spending all of your hard-earned cash on clothing. Choosing a thrift store to shop at really depends on your fashion preferences. If you like high-end dresses by top names, check out thrift stores in ritzy neighborhoods. You will be surprised at the clothing that people get rid of. You can find many of the top designer names at prices well below those found on even generic brands at retail chain stores. Once you are familiar with the store and staff, you will have an “in” for finding out when the stock is refreshed. Many donations are made on weekends so it is likely that new items will be placed on the sales floor by mid-week.
You can typically find everything from cocktail dresses to lounge wear. Thrift stores also sell shoes, accessories, household goods and even jewelry. While there are many great deals, you need to make sure to pay special attention to the condition of clothing before you make a purchase. Remember that most items have been previously worn. There could have been alterations made to the piece, so trying on the article is a must. Staff usually checks for stains and other imperfections, but give the garment at least a cursory glance-just in case. Check the soles of shoes for extreme wear . Look at clasps, buttons and adornments.Test the strength of seams near shoulders, hips and knees. Try all zippers and snaps as well. Shop carefully and you will walk away with terrific items and a purse that is still full of cash!

Fashion Deals for a Tight Budget

As if shopping for clothing isn’t hard enough”dressing room mirrors, anyone?”but scoring cute finds at reasonable prices can seem almost impossible at times. Looking for fashion deals sounds as if it would be time-consuming, but it doesn’t have to be.
*Check out outlet stores for great deals on items that didn’t quite make the cut for department store standards. Check seams for strength, look for missing buttons, make sure the zippers work and inspect the item for obvious imperfections. Oftentimes you won’t be able to tell the difference in an outlet item and one straight off the rack from your local Niemen Marcus. The most minor of flaws can get an item shipped off to the outlets, so keep watch for bargain finds.
*One woman’s trashed purse is another’s treasure or something like that. Shop consignment stores and clothing resale organizations on a Tuesday. Many people make donations on weekends and the newest items are put on the rack early in the week. Shop in the high-end areas of town for bottom-dollar prices on beautifully tailored threads.
*Look at online auction sites for style steals. Some buyers will put overstock online at low prices so that they can prep for new inventory. If you are unsure of sizing though, thoroughly read the return policy. You don’t want to put out money for an item that won’t fit and can’t be exchanged.
*Shop for fashion deals in the off-season. If you are one of those lucky people that pretty much remain in the same clothing size, shop ahead. Buy clothes for next summer just as this summer season is closing out. Stick with blacks, neutrals and other classics’this helps keep you in style no matter where the trends turn. You can always add less expensive accessories or the season’s latest shoe style to quickly update an outfit as well.

Money is tight, but the earth is still revolving and fashion trends are still changing. What is a girl (with little cash to spare) supposed to do? -The store makes a profit, which benefits the employees, owner and the economy all at once.
-The clothing does not go into a landfill. Instead, it is used until it is truly ready to be trashed.
In today’s going green mindset, this is one of the best means of reducing, reusing and recycling. Even obsolete styles can be updated to suit the needs of fussy fashionistas. Think of your typical style and then shop in an area of town that best fits the clothing you are looking for. If you like funky and eclectic, shop at the downtown thrift store. Designer apparel more your thing? Shop consignment stores in high-end neighborhoods for deals on top-quality wear.
Remember that you can usually exchange your own worn, but nice items for an in-store shopping spree credit! Don’t bother taking anything with holes, spills or missing pieces. Think of the quality that you want to see when shopping for pre-owned goods when choosing which items to take in. The clothes you sell to the consignment shop may be just what someone else is looking for. The process goes full circle.
